Kinslayer Prestige Class

Kinslayer

Once you've tasted the blood of a kin- it compels you to do more. Some are moral crusaders while others are nothing shy of serial killers. Whatever their reason- the crime of “kinslaying”, or killing one of your one blood is a crime most heinous. In some lands it is simply punishable by death but in others, where the offense carries a social taboo, death is to good for you. Torture and solitary confinement are a Kinslayer's only companions and in time even they fade into the dull gray background of prison life. Hatred grows and old malices festers in incarceration until freedom is either taken by force or opportunity.

Alignment: Though the path to becoming a Kinslayer is varied as there are reasons for murder all grow a deep-seated hate for those who simply act as agents of the Law. Incarceration pits “them” against “us”, “guards” against “prisoners”. This hatred generally compels one towards an evil alignment, but some are able to resist. Man's will alone is not strong enough to stop the change- but some cling to religion or philosophy to stay strong. Nothing is strong enough to resist the dislike of the law however and all Kinslayers are considered to be of Chaotic alignment.

Hit Dice: d8

Requirements:

To qualify to become a Kinslayer, a character must fulfill all the following criteria.

Alignment: Chaotic

Skills: Escape Artist 5 Ranks, Survival 5 Ranks

Special: The character must have been detained for a period of time no less than one year for the crime of Kinslaying.

Class Skills:

The Kinslayer's class skills are Acrobatics (Dex), Appraise (Int), Bluff (Cha), Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Disable Device (Dex), Disguise (Cha), Escape Artist (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Perception (Wis), Perform (Cha), Profession (Wis), Sense Motive (Wis), Sleight of Hand (Dex), Stealth (Dex), Swim (Str), and Use Magic Device (Cha).

Skill Ranks per Level: 4 + Int modifier.

Class Features:

The following are class features of the Kinslayer.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Kinslayers are proficient with all simple weapons, plus the hand crossbow, rapier, sap, shortbow, and short sword. They are proficient with light armor, but not with shields.

Favored Enemy (Kin) (Ex): At 1st level, a Kinslayer becomes adept at tracking his own kind. He gains a +2 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks against creatures of his same type and subtype. Likewise, he gets a +2 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against them. A Kinslayer may make Knowledge skill checks untrained when attempting to identify these creatures. At 1st level and every four levels thereafter (5th and 9th) the bonus against creatures of his same type and subtype increases by +2.

Escape Artist (Ex): You can apply your Kinslayer level to your escape artist checks.

Kinslayer: A Kinslayer knows where to hit to make it hurt. Having felled many of his own kind, a Kinslayer has become adept at the art of murder. Anytime he is dealing damage to his own kind (same type and subtype) he gains an extra 1d6 damage at 2nd level, and increases by 1d6 every two Kinslayer levels thereafter. Should the Kinslayer score a critical hit with a Kinslaying attack, this extra damage is not multiplied. Ranged attacks can count as Kinslaying attacks only if the target is within 30 feet. With a weapon that deals nonlethal damage (like a sap, whip, or an unarmed strike), a Kinslayer can not apply this extra damage. He cannot use a weapon that deals lethal damage to deal nonlethal damage in a Kinslaying attack, not even with the usual –4 penalty. The Kinslayer must be able to see the target well enough to pick their favorite target area and must be able to reach such a spot. A Kinslayer cannot apply this extra damage while striking a creature with concealment.

Shank (Ex): Incarceration has taught you a valuable lesson when it comes to survival. The man with the weapon wins. If you are without a weapon you may take 1 hour to fashion yourself a “Shank” which counts as a Dagger or a Sap but are treated as improvised weapons. You may only fashion a shank once per day for every Kinslayer level you posses. Additionally you may ignore all penalties associated with fighting with improvised weapons.

Track (Kin) (Ex): A Kinslayer adds half his level (minimum 1) to Survival skill checks made to follow or identify tracks if they are of his own kin.

Smite Lawful (Su): Once per day, a Kinslayer can summon up his great hatred for all things lawful to aid him in his struggle against the oppressors. As a swift action, the Kinslayer chooses one target within sight to smite. If this target is lawful, the Kinslayer adds his Charisma bonus (if any) to his attack rolls and adds his Kinslayer level to all damage rolls made against the target of his smite. If the target of smite lawful is an outsider with the lawful subtype, or a lawful-aligned dragon the bonus to damage increases to 2 points of damage per level the Kinslayer possesses. Regardless of the target, smite lawful attacks automatically bypass any DR the creature might possess. In addition, while smite lawful is in effect, the Kinslayer gains a deflection bonus equal to his Charisma modifier (if any) to his AC against attacks made by the target of the smite. If the Kinslayer targets a creature that is of chaotic or neutral alignment, the smite is wasted with no effect. The smite lawful effect remains until the target of the smite is dead or the next time the Kinslayer rests and regains his uses of this ability. At 5th level, and at every three levels thereafter, the Kinslayer may smite lawful one additional time per day to a maximum of three times per day at 10th level.

Sentai Team Member Design Notes

Sentai Team Member

I was inspired (quite comically) when reading Besm's d20 anime (revised edition). I've had it for a while and it's been sitting in my car for some reason. Here is my design notes on my own “Sentai Team Member” class XD (VERY Tv the RPG if you know about that :D )

-Gains power based on the number of other Sentai Team members there are around them. +1 to all saves, +1 to Charisma for each member around them within 5feet times Sentai level.

-“Aid Another” for other Sentai Team Members give a +4 bonus instead of a +2. At 10th level this becomes a +6. At 15th a +8 and a +10 a 20th.

-Can discern the location of other team members at will. General direction.

-When a teammate takes damage they are aware of their exact location.

(So long as they are within 50feet x Sentai Member level)

-Smite Evil

-Treat a certain piece of armor as your “costume”. This armor can be dawned or removed as a swift action.

-You gain a magical weapon that increases in power as you level up. 5th level it is a +1 weapon (or +1 to the bonus), 10th a +2, 15th it becomes a +3, and at 20th level it becomes a +4 (or +4 to the bonus).

MUD Concept

MUD Concept

Stats

There are a massive number of stats that are intentionally left unexplained to the player as to their exact nature. This can be done because it's an obscured and automated action by the PC. They are all used to determine derived values. This is done on a d20 system using a

Physical Strength (How physically strong you are)

Physical Constitution (How physically resistant to harm you are)

Physical Dexterity (How precise you are with your motions)

Physical Agility (How graceful you are)

Physical Reaction (How quick you react)

Physical Charisma (How attractive you are)

Mental Intelligence (How much you know academically)

Mental Wisdom (How broad of a range of topics you are knowledgeable about)

Mental Wit (How quick you are mentally.)

Mental Charm (How eloquently and effectively you speak.)

Spiritual Clarity (How clear your focus is)

Spiritual Devotion (How strong your faith is)

For example:

To hit: (Physically)

d20 (roll) + 2/4th Dexterity Modifier + 1/4th Reaction Modifier + 1/4th Agility Modifier vs AC of target.

Damage (Physical Damage):

Weapon Damage + ½ Strength Modifier + 1/4th Dexterity + 14th Reaction Modifier

Glancing Blow:

If the value of the “to hit” roll is less than your Constitution Modifier you get your Constitution Modifier in damage reduction.

If To Hit <>

Critical Hit

If the value of the “to hit” roll is twice the AC of the target then you add a x2 multiplier to all damage dealt. If it is three times the AC, this bonus becomes x3. Four times the damage, x4- so on and so forth.

Physical AC

10 + 1/4th Reaction Modifier + 1/4th Agility Modifier + Armor Value (Includes shields)

To Hit (Spell)

d20 (roll) + 2/4th Clarity Modifier + 1/4th Wit Modifier + 1/4th Intelligence Modifier vs Spell AC of target.

Spell AC

10 + 1/4th Wit Modifier + 1/4th Agility Modifier + Armor Value (Includes shields)

Fireball Damage

Devotion Modifier +1/4th Arcane (General) or +½ Arcane (Elemental) or + Arcane (Fire) attunement value [Whatever is highest]

Stats are only generated and directly increased upon character creation. Every level a character gains two points to spend on “Attunement” and/or “Role”. Every 5th rank in a role the character gains a bonus to a derived stat. (“To hit” or AC) Every 5th rank in a attunement gains them acess to a new domain

Power Sources

Divine (General)

Divine (Heaven)

Divine (Hell)

Divine (Disease)

Divine (Cruelty)

Divine (Excess)

Arcane (General)

Arcane (Elemental)

Arcane (Fire)

Arcane (Wind)

Arcane (Water)

Arcane (Earth)

Arcane (Necromantic)

Emotional (General)

Emotional (Rage)

Emotional (Serenity)

Emotional (Deception)

Roles

Striker (This offers offensive skills)

Defender (This offers defensive skills)

Leader (This buffs allies/debuffs enemies)

Crafter (Increasing this allows a character to craft more/better.)

Academic (They study things. Effectively this makes them gain a wider degree of use out of their per-existing skills. It's an option vs progression thing and this is pure “option”. )

Explanation:

Lets say Timmy has 5 points in Divine (General) and he unlocked Divine (Heaven) and has 5 points in it too. He likes to hit things so he has 5 points in the Striker role. From his striker role he gains the ability “Slash”. Because he has unlocked Divine (Heaven) he can use the “Holy” descriptor on all of his abilities he gains from his roles. In this case he now has “Holy Slash” which deals additional holy damage.

Lets take a look at Timmy if he had put 5 points into the “Defender” roll rather than the Striker role. He would have gained “Guard” which raises his AC by 1 when used. Since he has Divine (General) he can raise his AC by ½ his Devotion Modifier as well!

If Timmy had kept his striker role but instead took Arcane (General) and Arcane (Fire) he would have had “Fire Slash” which dealt fire damage instead of holy damage!

E3 in Review

E3

My trip started with an ending. I'd just closed the book on an old relationship that had been haunting me for some time (allowing me to appreciate my current one a good deal more) and watched my dad get married for a second time. Leaving Connecticut early in the morning I headed back to Arizona to gather the group together and set out for E3. The flight left 6:30am Connecticut so that was 3:30am Arizona time. I made my landing in Texas after a good little nap (I only slept 2 hours the night before) and found myself back in Arizona at about noon. In due time we set out for Arielle Shearer's house who's family had offered to put us up while we where in LA. (They are awesome people!) I had just crossed the UAT, coast to coast, in about 22 hours.

The trip proved a greater stain then we had imagined as we left at about 4pm and got in rather late (or early if you are of that school of thought) and the twisting mountain roads that Google Maps sent us on was quite terrifying for Betsy. (Betsy is my piece of shit '95 altima...) We eventually arrived and crashed close to 3am.

Day 1 was AMAZING, we explored the larger of the two expo halls (EA, THQ, Disney, Playstation, SquareEnix Bandi, ect) and got TONS of swag. My first stop was the THQ booth to gawk at the 40k booth for a bit. They where really tights lipped about EVERYTHING- not even commenting on a speculative release date for Dark Millennium in a number of YEARS. T.T

Day 2 saw us explore the other hall (Sony/SOE, Capcom, Konami, Nintendo, ect) and there was much swag to be had as well. I think I have to give the “nicest people” award to SOE- we got chatted up by the developers of DC Online for a good while and they not only know their stuff but where REALLY friendly and professional. They gave us struggling college students a LOT of hints and tricks about the industry and that really made my day. Thanks SOE if you are reading this!!!

The last day was our “wait in line day” and I got to play some excellent games as a result (though sadly FF14 was BOOKED SOLID). Among them was the Zelda game, Skyward Sword that had me standing in line for about an hour and a half.

Game Impressions

Force Unleashed II

Despite headlining E3 and having an AMAZING movie in the entrance hall- Force Unleashed II really didn't make much of a showing to the industry. I hear press was allowed to get a better look at it- but all we got to see was a trailer. I LOOKS good and so did the first so I got high hopes.

Castlevania: Lord of Shadows

Now the thing that really grabbed me about this game was that at first I didn't peg it as a Castlevania game until I saw the title really. It doesn't LOOK like a Castlevania game in the trailer. Also- Patrick Stewart is voicing someone so it's an auto-buy :D I also tried a Castlevania puzzle game that reminded me a LOT of “Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine” for the sega genesis. It's just a Puyo Puyo clone.

Halo: Reach

The statue looked good. That's about all I got to hear/see of it XD

Battlefield Bad Company 2: Vietnam

I only got about a minuet long clip of this to go on but it looks like a solid companion to BC2's original setting. Not much info on it but it is sure to excite you if you are a history buff like me. They also showed a little bit of an “Onslaught” mode for BC2 which allows for 4 player co-op. Hell yes...

Rift: Planes of Telara

Now allow me to rant here for a second by what is up with developers claiming that their fantasy MMO is “innovative” and “unique” when it is really just a WoW clone. Besides a stunning booth and a booth babe I'd like to cast a few spells on- I wasn't impressed at all by this game. It looks like WoW (right down to 2 factions, a series of classes with a talent tree system) with a slight graphics upgrade. If you are going to throw money at something and you want to claim innovative gameplay- don't just tweek a few things and call it a masterpiece. Really redesign the wheel. If they where trying to ride the bandwagon- by all means go for it. It makes money and will be a GREAT launch title. The game looks FUN but it looks like WoW. Nothing wrong with that- just don't tell us that it's a new and innovative thing... I'm sure every gamer watching that demo thought the same thing.

End of Nations

Also by developer Trion was a game called “End of Nations”. If Rift was a WoW clone- End of Nations is the polar opposite. It's a VERY COOL RTS MMO that employs a lot of familiar aspects while still keeping it fresh enough to get me interested. When my “cool” radar goes off that normally means that the game has something new/cool/unique about it and I felt a twitch of two. It's got a plot- world wide battles, persistent upgrades, what looked like classes, and rolled together with a lot of RTS (starcraft-ish) goodness that you don't see in a traditional MMO.

Epic Mickey

Love the concept- gameplay needs work. I didn't get to see much of it but the parts I saw where kinda so-so. The art style is what carries it but the gameplay for the Wii with it's hardware limitations seem kinda... meh. Go go Warren Spector- I LOVE you, your plot and setting and I might try this out when it launches but... please work on your gameplay- it seems kinda bland for a game so awesome.

Just Dance 2

Ok- I'll roll all the dance games in with this. The Kinect is a solid, interesting, much needed step up in the industry and it makes Just Dance (and all it's clones) amazingly fun to play or watch. The Wii & Move versions kinda “cheat” it but the Xbox 360 version is as solid and fun as you can get. I recommend it! (It's a game that's fun to even WATCH)

Okamiden

Suddenly cute- Okami is back to make it's many dedicated fans squeal with cutsey joy. Nothing seems super innovative but it looks like a real crowd pleaser.

Def Jam Rapstar

What can I say? 4MM and Terminal Reality knows it's demographics- Def Jam put out what it does best. There where a lot of oldschool hits and old music videos from the Wu-Tang Clan. How can you not love it if you're into that stuff? Konami's gonna make bank!

Wii Rant

God I hate your controller and your hardware. Upgrade that stuff and put it out as a “Wii 2” or “Wii Advanced”. Your demographics deserve better than gamecube era hardware and shoddy motion tracking.

Avatar the Last Airbender the Movie.. the Game

I sat though the trailer for this an immediately regretted wasting that minuet of my time. It looks like it was developed on Unity if we had to graphical limitations we did in the N64 era. Seriously guys- if you are going to make a tie in game, PLEASE don't make it suck. I'd like to give my “Worst in Show” award to this game.

Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest

Nothing to write home about. If you are a kid and liked the LOTR movies you're gonna like this game regardless of my opinion of it. My only real complaints are that it's kinda samey to all the other LOTR games, has a weird control scheme, and poor graphics. However- it was somewhat fun. Call it a lukewarm thumbs up. The developer at the booth was cool though.

UFC Undisputed 2010

I don't really like sports games all that much but this was actually a solid, fun game to play. I enjoyed the lack of UI- I intuitively got when my character (or the other guy) was injured. Cuts and bruises showed up to show damage and the graphics where well polished. The controls where just so-so and grappling was just plain bad. To get out from being pinned you rotate one of the control sticks which seems to have a randomly determined effect. Sometimes my character tried to get out one way and the other times he seemed to just want to lay there on his back while a big brute pounded him to death. The game slowed SIGNIFICANTLY when you hit the mat and it was more like just waiting for the match to resume. I originally ranted it's praises but after playing it a second time and getting grappled and pinned over and over I just kinda left the controller at the booth and continued on my merry little way in the middle of a match. “Bored- lost interest” is all I could think.

Two Worlds

Clunky unintuitive controls really made this game stand out as an excellent example of over-complication. If I have to have the booth guys explain to me a few times how to equip/draw a weapon or attack then that's not a well designed control scheme. Maybe it would be better on PC.

Zelda: Skyward Sword

I liked this game- it reminded me of the good old days with Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask only on the Wii. I didn't like the Wiimote with it but it was a FUN Experience (the 10 min demo showed me that) with gameplay that made me satisfied. Rock on Zelda.

Battlestar Galatica Online

Not much was said about this but I saw a quick trailer and I LOVE me so Battlestar so I'm pumped about this.

DC Universe Online

Using a modified version of the UE3 engine to develop an MMO is NOT an easy task I'd imagine but SOE did it was style. It's kinda reminiscent of Champions or City of Heroes/Villains but overall I give it a BIG thumbs up. The banding gave it a bigger budget and it was well used. My only gripe is that using the havoc physics engine with it means weird cape movement in a game with superman and some very sticky flying mechanics.

40k Stuff

I am a fan. I'll admit it right now, I LOVE 40k and it's entire universe so I was very excited about the stuff THQ had on display. Unfortunately it was sparse info and didn't really tell me anything I didn't know. THQ developers where very tight-lipped about their stuff on the 40k franchise games so I can't really say much about them. Dark Millennium Online (the 40k MMO) only had a trailer and some screen-shots up and “Space Marine” the FPS was just about the same. I'll reserve comment on them but I'm hopeful Dark Millennium Online doesn't go the way of the Fantasy one.

Sword & Fist Feats

Hay guys! I just got my hands on a copy of Sword & Fist and I converted a few of the feats over from it to Pathfinder for my own setting (if you are unfamiliar with it just ignore the "Blessed" requirement). I wasn't exactly psyched about a LOT of the feats but a few where amusing/useful enough to provoke me to convert them over. Even a few class abilities made it in there as feats. I also added "Guarded Shot" on my own volition. (Allows ranged characters to fire with an enemy adjacent without provoking an attack of opportunity) Tell me what you think!

Monkey Grip

BAB +3, Weapon Focus with the appropriate weapon, Str +16

You can use a two-handed melee weapon with which you have taken Weapon Focus in using only one hand to wield it. You get a -8 penalty when using this. This penalty is reduced by your strength modifier. You may take this multiple times. Each time you take this it applies to a different weapon.

Dirty Fighting

BAB +3

Any damage dealt during a surprise round or to a target who has not acted yet is increased by 1d6.

Sharp-Shooting

BAB +3, Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot

You gain a +2 bonus to your ranged attack rolls made to hit targets with partial cover. This feat has no effect against targets without any cover.

Zen Archery

BAB +3, Wis +13, Blessed

The character can use half her Wisdom modifier instead of her Dexterity Modifier when making a range attack at a target inside of 30 feet.

Defender of God

BAB +9, Blessed

A character with this feat may elect to place himself in the path of danger in order to protect his charge charge. Any time during your turn you can designate one person as your charge as a free action. Any time you are within 5 feet of your charge and your charge suffers an attack, you may switch places. You must declare this before the attack roll is made. Using this consumes an attack of opportunity.

Counterstrike

BAB +6

If a character with this feat delays his attack until after they are attacked this round, he takes advantage of the opening and can add a +2 bonus to his attack and damage rolls. This only applies if you delay your action until you are hit in melee.

Guarded Shot

BAB +6, Weapon Focus with the appropriate weapon

You can shoot defensibly with a ranged weapon you have taken weapon focus in. Doing so does not provoke an attack of opportunity from adjacent targets. Normally, firing a ranged weapon provokes an attack of opportunity. This shot has a -2 to hit .

Painted Swords

A painted sword is an exotic weapon passed down by a family to denote the lineage of a particular clan. It is normally in the possession of the clan's Elder but is often gifted to strong warriors for a time before a war. The weapon itself is generally a single edged saber like weapon though there is no exact unified design. They have some similarities however as they are all expected to be wielded in one hand as they are used in duels and a two handed weapon is decidedly not regarded as being “fair”. They are slashing weapons- though they may additionally be piercing weapons all have the ability to slash. In any event the sword is a sight to behold no matter what it's construction is. A Painted Sword is decorated excessively with iconography depicting the clan's exploits, trophies hang around the handle by thick cords of leather and the blade itself is often etched with vivid depictions of important events in the clan's history. Only positive markers are allowed on the sword, it is believed to invite good luck and favor from the clan's ancestors who have passed on and are now joined with the Divine Father. Tragic or sad events are believed to invite doom on the user as it angers the spirits. The greatest honor for a member of a clan is to have their name inscribed on the blade. Legend has it that anyone who's name is inscribed on the clan's Painted Sword will protect them from the afterlife.

Firearms

Reloading a firearm takes 2 move actions. They do not have to be consecutive. If you posses the “rapid reload” feat this is reduced to a single move action. A firearm may not be reloaded while mounted (except for the Dragoon). Firearms can not deal non-lethal damage (except with the Warning Shot feat). Rolling a critical failure (natural 1 on an attack roll) will result in the weapon backfiring, dealing 1d6 damage (1d4 for small) to the user and rendering the weapon useless. A Masterwork firearm will never backfire. A firearm can be used as a “gun club” and it takes no time to convert it. If you posses a bayonet it takes a swift action to equip it. While a bayonet is equipped one can not fire the gun or reload it, the bayonet interferes with the barrel itself. A bayonet may only be equipped to a Mousquet, or Pistolet. Characters from Hassard are automatically considered to be proficient with Firearms.

Meticulous maintenance is required to maintain a firearm. Failure to clean and prep it in the morning (an action that takes about 20 minuets) will result in it backfiring on a roll of 1+ the number of days left un-maintained. A gun cleaning kit (100gp) will reduce this time by 10 minutes.

All feats that apply to bows/crossbows/raged weapons applies to firearms with the exception of the Rapid Shot and Many Shot feats.

Mousquet (Firearm)

In Hassard the “Mousquet” (or “Musket”) is a smooth-bore firearm developed and approved by the Academic Court for military use. Rarely found outside of Hassard and primarily issued to military specially trained units- a Mousquet is an feared the world over as a deadly and effective weapon. Meticulous maintenance is required to maintain them. A Mousquet that is properly maintained with a gun cleaning kit that day has no chance to backfire.

Pistolet

Designed to be fired once and switched out for another (or used as a club) the Pistolet is the favored firearm of officers. While not as powerful as the Mousquet it has earned it's place in the heart of officers and pirates alike for it's “use it and loose it” role. Many combatants will enter combat strapped with several loaded Pistolets and fire them only to disregard them when they are spent. Designed as a companion to the Mousquet- the Academic Court has approved them for both military and civilian use when properly trained. A Pistolet may be wielded in one hand with a -4 penelty.

Espingole

When the request came in to design a firearm with the ability to stop a charge the Academic Court's answer was to commission master gun-smiths to craft a weapon that sent a spray of small led balls at an opponent. The Espingole was the result. Rugged and deadly, there is nothing else like it on the battlefield. It is capable of spraying a 20ft cone with small balls of led called “shot”. (Keep in mind, a cone-shaped effect shoots away from you in a quartercircle in the direction you designate. It starts from any corner of your square and widens out as it goes. These type of shots don't go around corners.) Espingole is capable of firing a wide verity of ammunition- even improvised ammunition in a pinch. Silverware, gravel, stones, bones, whatever is at hand can be fired from an Espingole in a tight situation. Doing so uses the “Shot, Improvised” profile and the backfire chance is increased by 5. (If maintained it will backfire on a 6 or higher)

Dragoon

Designed with the cavalry officer in mind, this weapon has a wide, flared muzzle, making it a good deal easier to reload on a horseback. Normally a firearm is unable to be reloaded on a horseback but due to the design- a Dragoon is. A dragoon showers an area with a 10 foot cone of shot and can halt all but the most determined attackers. (Keep in mind, a cone-shaped effect shoots away from you in a quartercircle in the direction you designate. It starts from any corner of your square and widens out as it goes. These type of shots don't go around corners.)

Feats

Painted Sword Proficiency

Requirements: Own your family's Painted Sword

If you posses the Painted Sword of your family you are now treated as being proficient in it and treat it as a masterwork weapon. Please note that you are not treated as being proficient in ALL Painted Swords, only the one your family has produced. This is due to the exotic and varying nature of the swords. One could look much like a long sword while another could more closely resemble a hand spear or even a rapier.

Painted Sword Mastery

Requirements: Painted Sword Proficiency, +6 BAB

If you posses the Painted Sword of your family it's damage increases to 1d10 (1d8 for small) and it's critical multiplier increases to x3. This only applies to your family's specific Painted Sword.

Warning Shot

Requirements: Weapon Focus Fireamrs, +6 BAB

You may deal non-lethal damage with firearms.

Musketeer

Requirements: Weapon Focus Firearms, +6 BAB

If you roll a backfire with a firearm, roll again. If the new roll would not have backfired- the gun does not backfire.

Pistoleer

Requirements: Weapon Focus Fireamrs, +6 BAB

You may wield a Pistolet in one hand with no penalty or a Dragoon one handed with a -4 penalty.

Dragoon

Requirements: Weapon Focus Fireamrs, +9 BAB

You may wield a Dragoon in one hand with no penalty.

Peacemaker

Requirements: Weapon Focus Firearms, Critical Focus

If you critically hit an opponent with a firearm you may forgo damage (declare before you roll damage) and immediately make a Diplomacy or Intimidate check at a bonus equal to the damage you would have dealt. This Diplomacy or Intimidate check may only be used to stop combat.

Tonnerre Tracteur Blindé (Thundering Dragon)

Requirements: Weapon Focus Firearms, Critical Focus, +9 BAB

If you critically hit an opponent with a firearm it lets out a cacophonous roar that can shake a man to his grave. The weapon deals an extra 1d8 points of sonic damage on a successful critical

hit. If the weapon’s critical multiplier is ×4, add an extra 2d8 points of sonic damage instead. Subjects dealt critical hits by a character with this feat must make a DC 14 Fortitude save or be deafened permanently.
